DUBAI: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, visited the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025 as the landmark global travel and tourism event concluded its largest edition to date at Dubai World Trade Centre.

The four-day exhibition, which ran from 28 April to 1 May, welcomed over 55,000 attendees from 166 countries – marking a 16% year-on-year increase.

The Dubai Ruler received an overview of key themes, innovations, and global partnerships shaping the future of the industry under this year’s central theme, “Global Travel: Developing Tomorrow's Tourism Through Enhanced Connectivity.”

The event was officially inaugurated on Monday by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, also visited the show, exploring new concepts across multiple sectors and interacting with global exhibitors.

Their presence further underscored Dubai’s role as a central hub in shaping global tourism and business travel.

ATM 2025

ATM 2025 achieved substantial growth across every key sector. Notably, the hotels segment recorded a 12% year-on-year rise, featuring all major international hotel chains. ATM Travel Tech grew by an impressive 26%, with over 100 tech companies showcasing innovations. The newly launched Start-Up and Innovation Zone introduced 21 disruptive brands and included a dedicated immersive VR experience for visitors.

Geographically, participation surged across the Middle East (19%), Asia (20%), Europe (17%), and Africa (21%) – with Asia marking the fastest growth rate. India (6%), Türkiye (3.2%), and the United Kingdom (3%) led international registrations, followed by Egypt, the United States, China, Sri Lanka, Spain, Maldives, and Pakistan.

A total of 2,800 exhibiting companies from around the world took part in ATM 2025, making it the most diverse edition in the event’s history. The conference featured over 70 sessions with over 200 speakers on three stages – the Global Stage, Future Stage, and the newly launched Business Events Stage, part of IBTM@ATM.

IBTM@ATM emerged as a standout feature, tailored for business event professionals, and featured content from the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), and World Energy Council, among others.

Organised by RX Global, ATM 2025 spanned 12 halls at DWTC, reaffirming its position as the premier international travel and tourism event in the region. Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director ME, Arabian Travel Market, noted the significance of cross-sector collaboration and innovation in shaping a resilient future for global tourism.
